A while ago it was rumored that Google could be attempting to recreate their app icons into a more minimal/flat design dubbed internally as Moonshine. Along with the rumors, images were also spread all over the internet showing the new icons in action on a homescreen screenshot.

Not too long after that, someone recreated these icons in vector format images giving developers high-quality images to use for icon packs. There are already a few icons packs available on the Play Store that offer you this look but not all of them are offered for free. Therefore in this post I am going to introduce you to the app called "Moonshine" by Nexbit Design.

The Moonshine application offers a vast amount of re-designed icons following Google's new app icon guidelines. In this icon pack you will not only see system and Google apps' icons replaced but actual Play Store downloaded apps' as well.

Currently the app offers more than 385 icons in XXX-HDPI as well as 17 neat wallpapers that match the new minimal look. It also supports launchers such as Nova, Apex, ADW, Smart, Unicon, Action Launcher, Aviate, Go Launcher and others.

Another great thing about this icon pack is that you can change an app's icon at any time simply by long-pressing on it and dragging it to the Edit option (The "Edit" feature and its location may vary on each launcher) and pick an alternative from the Moonshine catalog.
