Recently the CyanogenMod team have published their CM Installer app to the Google Play store in effort to expand the adoption of their custom rom but yesterday Google contacted them and told them that the app was violating their policies, thus the CM team have removed the app.

The installer of course is still available for free download at the official CyanogenMod website. Users basically need to visit the website and click on the green "Get Started" button found at the center of the page.

For those of you who are wondering what this app does, it helps users to install the CM custom rom with an easy user interface. It helps the user connect his phone easily to the computer over ADB and according to sources, the app was encouraging users to "void their warranty".

Just today an update was posted at their official website claiming that their app was actually not in violation of their TOS and that it was a "mischaracterization of Google’s statement". Still, the app for now seems to be unavailable from the Play Store and no information has been posted whether it will be re-published for download.
